The Meek Shall Inherit
About Gill Cross
The writing bug began for me whilst attending a local senior school and as far as freelance journalism goes, has continued throughout my life. Writing poetry for magazines, winning prizes for short story competitions, reviewing books for local newspaper and writing articles on local issues, the written word has played a large part in my life. As the mother of a caring son, who indulges my thirst for keeping me up to date with the latest technology, I pads, Alexa, to name just two and a loving daughter, who also writes, paints and encourages my efforts, whilst giving 100 per cent to her place of work, I figure I am truly blessed. I hold good memories of yesterday, am in tune with today's world and look forward with great expectations to the future.
For relaxation, apart from reading and playing the piano, I watch television and enjoy its many facets. My tastes are varied, from 'Breaking Bad' to 'Finding Dory'. Watching old films such as 'An Affair To Remember' to the 2015 film 'Carol'. I am fascinated by the depths of relationships.
All seasons of the year hold their uniqueness, but my favourite time is Christmas. For a brief period I create displays of snow covered Victorian scenes, complete with houses and a musical train on the outskirts of the village. This year will be an exceptional one. Instead of coping with individual electric switches, my grandsons have provided me with gadgets that will illuminate my displays on command or by remote control. Wow! That's magic.
